Day 1 I had the pleasure of meeting Tina and Martin in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Originally from Kosice, Slovakia, they were far from home. We enjoyed our time together and talked for hours about everything we had learnt and experienced. One lesson that has stuck with me is “The Slovakian New Year” – In Slovakia, a new year or a new beginning has to get off on the right foot. They believe that the way you live your first day is a representation of how things will be going forward. I can’t tell you how many times I have been faced with change, loss, start ups and shutdowns. The fear of the unknown can be crippling, but this concept of the “Slovakian New Year” has always comforted me. January 1, 2021 – An amazing day to practice your own “Slovakian New Year” Do it, Call her, Relax, Pick up the pace, Speak less, Speak up, Read, Pray, Exercise, Say your sorry, Give it all away. – Do anything and everything that will help shape 2021 to be your best year ever. - Nothing to worry about, God is in control.
