In Nehemiah 4, as the wall is built, opposition rises. Nehemiah’s enemies mock, threaten, and plan attacks, but Nehemiah doesn’t panic. Half work while half stand ready with weapons.

In Nehemiah 5, we see a focus on life inside the walls. Poor families are forced to mortgage land and even sell their children into slavery to survive. Nehemiah is furious. He confronts the nobles and officials, demanding they stop charging interest and give back what they’ve taken. Nehemiah leads by example, refusing the governor’s allowance and feeding people from his own table.

In Nehemiah 6, Nehemiah’s enemies try to derail the project with flattery, ambushes, and rumors. They invite him to fake peace talks four times. He says no, every time. Then they accuse him of plotting rebellion. Still, he won’t come down from the wall. Even a hired false prophet tries to scare him into hiding in the Temple. Nehemiah sees through the lies and finishes the wall in 52 days. That is a man with a purpose! We learn a valuable lesson from Nehamiah - Don’t come down from your wall!

Psalm 132, this psalm honors David’s heart to build God a home and celebrates God’s bigger promise: a lasting legacy through his family line.
