In Job 29, Job remembered the days when life was good—when he helped the poor and the broken. He felt like God was with him then. Sometimes in hard times, we miss the past. Job’s longing shows that it’s okay to grieve what was. But we must also believe that God isn’t finished writing our story.
In Job 30, Job described how everything had changed. People laughed at him. He was in constant pain. He felt like God had turned away. His words were raw and sad. Prayer doesn’t always have to be pretty—just real.
In Job 31, Job ended his defense by listing all the things he had done right. He wanted God to know that his heart was clean. When we know we’ve done right, we can stand with courage.
In Psalm 146, this psalm reminds us not to trust human leaders. They can fail, but God never fails. People may disappoint you, but God never will.
