In the darkness of judgment, Isaiah 9 turns prophetic. Isaiah prophesies that a great light will emerge for those walking in deep darkness. A child will be born.

In Isaiah 10, he turns his attention to injustice. He condemns leaders who write laws that crush the poor and rob people of their rights. God sees it all, and His justice is coming. No empire, no system, no person is beyond God’s reach.

Isaiah 11 points towards Jesus. Out of what seemed like a dead stump of Jesse (David’s father), a shoot will grow. A new leader filled with the Spirit of God. This is the Messiah. He won’t judge by appearances but with righteousness.

Isaiah 12 is a short hymn of praise to close this section. When we truly experience God’s mercy, not just as an idea but as a rescue, we can’t help but sing.

Proverbs 4 feels like a heartfelt letter from a loving parent to a child. It’s Solomon speaking to his sons as he shares the wisdom he received from his own father, David. There’s a beautiful generational echo.
