In Isaiah 28, the leaders of Ephraim are swallowed by their own pride and enveloped in a world of illusions of their own making. They’ve built their lives on lies and think they’re untouchable. God isn’t impressed by appearances. What are you building your life on?
In Isaiah 29, Jerusalem is performing spiritual rituals. Although their intentions might be in the right place, their hearts are far from Him. God responds with an abundance of grace. God's correction is never the end. Instead, it is an invitation back.
In Isaiah 30, the people of Judah are running from Jerusalem to Egypt for help. Instead of trusting God to protect them from the threat of Assyria, they secretly form an alliance with Egypt. They are running south toward what they think is safety. God sees it as rebellion because it is a decision driven my fear not by faith.
In Proverbs 8, Wisdom isn’t hiding. Instead, it is out in the open. Wisdom is personified as a woman. She offers life, truth, and guidance more valuable than gold.
