In Isaiah 36, the Assyrian army, led by the arrogant leader Rabshakeh, mocks King Hezekiah and taunts the people of Jerusalem. He tries to shake their faith in God by claiming no other god has ever saved a nation from Assyria, but Judah is not like other nations.

In Isaiah 37, Hezekiah responds in the best way anyone can. He prays. God answers through Isaiah, promising that the king of Assyria will not enter the city.

In Isaiah 38, Hezekiah falls ill and is told he will die, but once again, he prays. God hears and adds 15 years to his life. It’s a powerful reminder that prayer matters.

In Proverbs 10, we transition into a collection of individual wise sayings. Each verse is packed with truth about how to live.
