In Isaiah 45, God talks specifically about Cyrus, the Persian king. He chooses before Cyrus even knows Him. God uses this foreign leader to fulfill His purposes.
“I am the Lord, and there is no other” repeats like a heartbeat through the chapter. God issues another warning to us all to avoid idols.
In Isaiah 46, God highlights the distinction between Himself and idols. Idols are powerless. People might carry idols, but it is God who carries His people. He reminds His people, including us, that He has sustained us since birth.
