In Isaiah 49, God speaks through His Servant, understood as Jesus. He was chosen before birth, hidden like a polished arrow, ready for the right time. God’s deep love for Israel is pictured in a mother’s love.
In Isaiah 50, the tone shifts. God explains that Israel’s suffering isn’t because He abandoned them, but because they turned away. The chapter gives a beautiful description of the Messiah. He listens, suffers, and remains faithful, trusting God. It’s a powerful model of silent courage.
Awake God! Awake People! In Isaiah 51, we are urged three times to listen. God comforts His people, reminding them of His power. Awake, awake!” becomes a cry for both God to act and for His people to rise in faith.
