In Jeremiah 4, God calls us to repent. He’s not here for half-hearted rituals or fake crying. He wants the real deal. While Jeremiah’s heart is breaking, the people are acting like it’s all fine. God’s grief is raw: He doesn’t want to destroy His people, but He will not let sin slide forever.
In Jeremiah 5, God sends Jeremiah on a painful mission. He walks through Jerusalem and tries to find just one honest person, but he can’t! The poor are ignorant of God’s ways, and the wealthy, who should know better, have disobediently broken all limits.
In Jeremiah 6, destruction is at the gates. God pleads through Jeremiah, but the people refuse to listen. Sound familiar? The warnings grow louder. People have hardened hearts. Eventually, the consequence becomes inevitable. When God offers a path that leads to rest for the soul, and we turn away, we’re not just walking into danger, we’re walking away from peace. The question is not whether God speaks, but whether we listen.
In Ecclesiastes 2, Solomon tested every pleasure: laughter, wealth, projects, music, and success. He withheld nothing, but in the end, it all felt empty. His conclusion? Without God, even the best life loses meaning.
