In Jeremiah 13, God tells Jeremiah to hide a linen belt and retrieve it later, only to find it ruined. The belt symbolized the people of Jerusalem. Made to cling closely to God, but now useless because of pride. What have we allowed to rot in our relationship with God because of pride or disobedience?
In Jeremiah 14, a devastating drought hits the land, and the people cry out to God, but their words are hollow. They want relief without change. Crisis isn't a license to fake faith.
In Jeremiah 15, Jeremiah’s message is rejected, he’s alone, and he curses the day he was born. He pours out his grief, and God answers with reassurance and correction. Sometimes, spiritual exhaustion comes not from rebellion, but from faithful obedience. It’s OK to feel tired. Rest.
In Ecclesiastes 5, Solomon is teaching from a place of deep reflection. Speak less, listen more. He warns when you go to God, don’t come to perform, come to listen.
