In Jeremiah 22, God speaks directly to the kings of Judah. He warns them that injustice will lead to their downfall. Instead of defending the poor and needy, they’ve built fancy homes and ignored integrity.

In Jeremiah 23, God denounces false prophets and corrupt leaders who have misled the people. He points to a future king from David’s line. Guess who?

In Jeremiah 24, Jeremiah sees a vision: two baskets of figs. One basket is filled with ripe figs (these represent the people in exile) The other is a basket of rotten figs (these represent those who remain in Jerusalem). God’s mercy isn’t always where we expect it. Although the people in exile felt lost, there was hope.

Ecclesiastes 8, Wisdom can be complicated in our world. Life doesn’t always make sense. Evil people prosper. Justice feels late. Salomon says wisdom helps us face life with clarity. Trust God. God’s timing is perfect, even when we can’t see it. Trying to figure everything out is exhausting. Surrender brings peace.
