In Jeremiah 46, God declares that Egypt's power, pride, and military might won’t save them from Babylon. The Bible aligns closely with Babylonian records. Jeremiah’s prophecy wasn't just poetic, it was historically grounded. The famous battle of Carchemish (605 BC) is referenced, where Nebuchadnezzar defeated Pharaoh Necho. In Jeremiah 47, This short chapter predicts destruction for the Philistines, another enemy of Israel. In Jeremiah 48, Jeremiah called out Moab. Moab is condemned for arrogance. Moab’s pride mirrors how we lead our lives when prioritizing other things over God. In Song of Songs 4, the beloved, the groom, praises every detail of his love's beauty. He invited her to come to the mountains with him. The chapter ends with a desire for deeper intimacy. Real love notices, and treasures.
