In Ezekiel 16, God compares Jerusalem to an abandoned baby He raised into a beautiful bride, but she became unfaithful. God pours out His pain and disappointment. We often think of God as all-powerful, untouchable, distant from human emotion, but in this chapter, we see something shocking: a perfect, holy God - heartbroken. In Ezekiel 17, God gives a riddle about two eagles and a vine, symbolizing Babylon, Egypt, and Judah. Judah broke its agreement with Babylon by turning to Egypt for help, which led to consequences. But in the end, God promises to plant a sapling that will grow into a powerful tree, pointing us towards Jesus. In Ezekiel 18, the following concept is explored: people blamed their ancestors for their own suffering, but God says: Each person is responsible for their own choices. You are not trapped by your past or your family’s failures. You have the power to choose life through a thoughtful connection. In Psalm 5, David cries out to God in the morning, asking for help and justice. He trusts that God will protect the people who do right. This reminds us to start our day with honest prayer, letting Him guide our steps.
