God tells Ezekiel to sing a song about Judah, like a mother lion who raised strong cubs, referring to the kings, but each cub was captured because they didn’t follow God. This chapter reminds us that failure in leadership affects everyone beneath it. In Ezekiel 20, God retells Israel’s rebellious history, from Egypt to the wilderness and into the Promised Land, the people constantly disobeyed. God remembers our failures but offers patience. Do we do enough to offer patience to those around us? Many times the best gift you can give someone else is the free gift of mercy. In Ezekiel 21, God says He has drawn His sword. It’s a picture of the coming consequences. Babylon’s king is deciding which city to attack using magic tricks, and Jerusalem is chosen. In Psalm 6, David is physically and emotionally crushed. He cries a lot and asks God for help and healing. When anxiety or exhaustion strikes, we may feel like David, but even then, God hears.
