In Ezekiel 37, God gives Ezekiel a vision of a valley full of dry bones, lifeless, scattered, forgotten. But then something incredible happens. At God’s command, the bones come together, are covered with flesh, and come to life. No matter how lifeless things seem, God can breathe new life into you.
In Ezekiel 38, God reveals a mysterious prophecy. We meet Gog from the land of Magog. He is a powerful enemy. He will gather many people and he will plan a massive invasion against a peaceful Israel. Gog thinks it’s his idea, but it’s actually God drawing him in to show His power. Sometimes we’re overwhelmed by threats that seem bigger than us, but it is just God flexing His muscles.
In Ezekiel 39, the prophecy continues. God completes his consequence on Gog. The defeat is so great, it takes seven years to burn the weapons and seven months to bury the dead. When God defeats what’s trying to destroy you, He doesn’t just stop the attack. He restores your soul.
In Psalm 12, David looks around and feels like faithful people are disappearing. Everyone lies, flatters, and manipulates. It’s hard to know who to trust. Truth seems lost. Sounds familiar right? But then David contrasts that with God. God's Word is honest. It’s safe. It doesn’t change.
