In Ezekiel 40 Ezekiel is transported, in a vision, to Israel, where he meets a man holding a measuring rod. Together, they begin to carefully inspect a massive temple structure. Every gate, wall, and courtyard is measured in great detail. This isn’t just about architecture, it’s about order, holiness, and preparedness. Inspecting our inner temple, and rebuilding a sacred space in our heart should be a priority. In Ezekiel 41, the vision continues deeper into the temple itself. Ezekiel sees the inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place, along with beautiful wood carvings of cherubim and palm trees. The layout reveals layers of holiness, with God's throne room at the very center. Like the vision of this incredible temple, we must create layers upon layers of God centered behaviors with Him fueling everything from the core. In Ezekiel 42, This chapter focuses on the priestly chambers and regulations for sacred spaces. Ezekiel learns where priests are to eat, change clothes, and perform their duties without polluting the holy areas. There is a strong emphasis on boundaries between the holy and common. Do you have those boundaries clear in your own life? In Psalm 13, David begins this psalm in deep anxiety. How long, Lord?!? He feels forgotten, ignored, and overwhelmed by his enemies. In just six verses, David journeys from despair to trust. He chooses to believe in God’s everlasting love, even when he can’t see it. Even in silence and waiting, you can choose to trust.
