A Faithful God. Let’s review the story of Jeremiah, Lamentations, and Ezekiel. Long ago, God’s people stopped listening to Him. They said they loved God, but their actions showed otherwise. They lied, cheated, and followed false gods. So, God sent a brave young prophet named Jeremiah. His job was hard: tell the people to change before it was too late. Jeremiah warned them again and again, but the people didn’t listen. They laughed at him, ignored him, and even tried to hurt him. Finally, just like Jeremiah had said, Jerusalem was destroyed. The temple was burned, and many people were taken far away to Babylon. It was one of the saddest times in their history. Jeremiah wrote a book called Lamentations, full of tears and sorrow. He cried out to God, feeling crushed by the pain. But even in the middle of the sadness, Jeremiah remembered something true: God’s love never ends, and His mercy is unending. While the people were in exile, another prophet named Ezekiel had visions from God. God showed him strange and powerful pictures, like dry bones coming back to life, and a river flowing from a new temple. Ezekiel also warned the people, reminding them how serious their sins were. But he also gave them hope. Together, these three books tell one big story. Even when people are unfaithful, God is always faithful. Even when we mess up, God can bring new life. Even in our lowest moments, God never leaves us. He rebuilds, restores, and gives us a second chance.
