In Zephaniah 1, God sends Zephaniah to speak to the people of Judah. Although the message is intimidating, at the heart of the message is God’s desire for His people to come back to Him. He doesn’t want them lost in emptiness, He wants them safe in His care. In Zephaniah 2, The Lord invites the people to look for Him. He even reaches beyond Judah, naming other nations and showing that His care is not just for one group, but for everyone. In Zephaniah 3, The story builds to a beautiful promise. Though the people had been stubborn, God says one day He will change their hearts. In Psalm 36, This psalm contrasts the emptiness of living far from God with the richness of His love. David describes God’s love as reaching to the heavens, His faithfulness as wide as the sky, and His care as a safe place where we can rest.
