In Haggai 1, The people of Jerusalem were back from exile, but they were busy building their own houses while God’s temple was still in ruins. Through Haggai, God gently reminded them to think about their choices. You’ll never feel full or satisfied until you put God first. In Haggai 2, as they worked, some felt sad because the new temple didn’t look as beautiful as the old one, but God encouraged them. God showed them that what matters most isn’t the size of a building but His presence with His people. When we put Him at the center of our lives, He makes even small things shine with His greatness. Psalm 37, David reminds us not to worry when life looks unfair or when people who don’t follow God seem to be doing better. Instead, we should trust God. God promises to take care of those who stay close to Him and to fill their hearts with peace.
