In Zechariah 4, Zechariah saw a golden lampstand with seven lamps and two olive trees beside it. God explained that His work would not be completed by human strength but by His Spirit. Zerubbabel, who was leading the rebuilding, would finish what had been started because God was with him. Even small beginnings mattered because God’s presence was guiding every step. In our own lives, we sometimes feel our efforts are too small to make a difference, but God loves to use all the little things. In Zechariah 5, Zechariah saw a large flying scroll that carried away dishonesty and harm from the land. Then he saw a basket with a woman inside. These visions showed that God was preparing His people for a new, clean beginning. Just like clearing out a messy room before moving in, God was making space so His people could live in freedom. In Zechariah 6, Zechariah saw four chariots pulled by horses of different colors, sent across the earth to carry out God’s purposes. Then he was told to place a crown on the head of Joshua the high priest. This showed that God was bringing unity, peace, and a leader who would guide His people with love. It reminds us that God has a perfect plan, always working for our good. In Psalm 39, The psalmist reflected on how short life can feel, like a breath that quickly passes. He realized that human achievements are fragile, but true hope rests in God alone. In the same way, when we notice how quickly days pass, it can remind us to focus on what matters most.
