In Zechariah 7, Some people came asking if they still needed to keep certain fasts, traditions they had been doing for years. God gently reminded them that what matters most is not the outward habit but the heart behind it. It’s like when we go through the motions of doing without really caring.God wants us to actually mean it, to live out His love.

In Zechariah 8, God’s words turn hopeful here. He promises to bring His people back, to make Jerusalem a place full of truth, peace, and safety again. Children will play in the streets, and older people will sit in joy without fear.

In Zechariah 9, the focus shifts to a future king who would come riding humbly on a donkey, bringing peace to the nations. This points us to Jesus, who came not with armies but with gentleness, offering true peace.

In Psalm 40, David celebrates how God lifted him from despair and gave him a new song to sing. He talks about how God doesn’t just want empty sacrifices but loves a heart that truly trusts Him.
