In Matthew 7, Jesus finished the Sermon on the Mount by teaching about judging others, asking God in prayer, and living by the Golden Rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. He warned that not everyone who says they follow Him truly does, what matters is obedience. He compared two builders: one who built on rock and one on sand. The house on the rock stood firm, while the other fell. This shows us that a life built on God’s Word can endure storms, while one built on selfishness will collapse. In real life, it means our choices today prepare us for trials tomorrow. In Matthew 8, after His teaching, Jesus healed many: a man with leprosy, a Roman officer’s servant, Peter’s mother-in-law, and crowds of the sick. He even calmed a violent storm, showing His power over nature, and drove demons out of two men. People were amazed, but some were afraid of His power. This reminds us that Jesus cares for both our bodies and our hearts. When life feels like a storm, chaotic and frightening, we can trust that He has authority to bring peace. In Matthew 9, Jesus continued healing: a paralyzed man, a bleeding woman, a girl raised from death, and two blind men. He even forgave sins, which shocked the religious leaders. He also called Matthew, a tax collector, to follow Him. At the end, He looked at the crowds with compassion, saying they were like sheep without a shepherd. Psalm 47 celebrates God as King over all the earth. The writer calls everyone to clap, shout, and celebrate because God is in control. In our lives, it calls us to worship with contentment, knowing He is in control even when the world seems confusing.
