In Mark 10, Jesus blesses children and reminds everyone that God’s kingdom belongs to hearts that trust like theirs. He speaks with a rich man who wants eternal life, teaching that true treasure isn’t in wealth but in following Him. He also explains that greatness is not about power, but about serving, and He heals a blind man who refuses to give up calling on Him.

In Mark 11, Jesus enters Jerusalem like a humble King, welcomed with shouts of praise. He clears the temple, showing that God’s house is meant for prayer and welcome. He tells His disciples to pray with faith, believing that God hears them.

In Mark 12, Jesus answers tricky questions with wisdom and sums up the greatest commandment: love God fully and love your neighbor as yourself.

When I think of the cross, I see more than wood and nails—I see a picture of Jesus’ greatest commandments. The vertical post points upward, reminding us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The horizontal beam stretches out to the left and right, reminding us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Together, the cross becomes the perfect symbol of what Jesus taught in Mark 12. His sacrifice changed everything. The cross is not only where forgiveness was won, it is where love was defined.

Psalm 58 reminds us that while people may not always act with fairness, God sees, and His justice and care can be trusted.
