In Mark 15, Jesus is condemned, mocked, beaten, and nailed to the cross. The sky grows dark as He gives His life, and even the Roman soldier standing nearby realizes He truly is the Son of God. It seems like the end, but love is never defeated. Jesus is buried in a tomb, yet His story is far from finished.
In Mark 16, everything changes. Women come to the tomb and find it empty. An angel announces the incredible news: Jesus is alive. Fear turns into wonder, and hope bursts into the world like sunrise after the darkest night. The resurrection is God’s forever promise that life triumphs over death.
The cross looked final. The tomb looked sealed. Hope seemed gone. But in Mark 16, everything shifts, the stone is rolled away, and Jesus is alive. The resurrection is the heartbeat of our faith. It declares that darkness never has the last word, and death itself bows to the power of God’s love.
Psalm 60 speaks of feeling shaken and worn out, yet turning back to God for help and victory. Just like the psalmist, we see in Jesus’ resurrection that God does not abandon His people, He restores, lifts, and leads us forward.
