In Luke 4, Jesus was led into the wilderness, where He was tempted by the devil. He fought back with God’s Word every time and didn’t give in. Later, in His hometown, He read from Isaiah and said He came to bring freedom and healing. Some were amazed, but many rejected Him.

In Luke 5, Jesus called His first disciples after filling their nets with fish. Peter felt unworthy, but Jesus told him not to be afraid. Jesus healed a man with leprosy and forgave and healed a paralyzed man, proving He has authority. He even called Levi, a tax collector, to follow Him.

In Luke 6, Jesus taught what real blessing looks like. He said the poor, the hungry, and the hurting are blessed because God is with them. He told us to love our enemies, forgive others, and give freely. He ended by saying a wise person builds their life on His teaching, like a house on solid rock. Life built on Jesus is strong. Are your choices resting on sand or on the Rock?

In Psalm 62, David declares that God alone is his rock and salvation. He warns not to trust in riches or in people, because they don’t last. True peace comes when we rest in God as our safe place. Who or what are you trusting more than Him?
