In Luke 7, Jesus shows His deep care for people in many ways. He heals a Roman officer’s servant just by speaking, reminding us that His power goes beyond distance. He brings a widow’s son back to life, showing His heart for those who are grieving. John the Baptist’s friends ask if Jesus is really the one they were waiting for, and Jesus answers not with words but by pointing to all the lives He has restored. Later, when a woman pours out her love on Jesus, He welcomes her with kindness, proving that no one is ever too far for His reach.

In Luke 8, Jesus tells stories that carry deeper meaning. Seeds falling on different kinds of soil show how people receive God’s word differently. His words are like sunlight and water, meant to grow something strong in our hearts if we let them. He calms a raging storm, reminding His followers that He is bigger than any fear. He frees a man trapped in darkness, heals a woman who had suffered for years, and raises a little girl back to life.

Incredible!

In Luke 9, Jesus sends out His disciples to share hope and healing, teaching them to rely on God. He feeds thousands with just a small lunch, proving that in His hands even little things become more than enough. He reminds His followers that real greatness is found in humility and care for others. Following Jesus may mean sacrifice, but it also means being part of a life filled with love and purpose.

If Jesus could spread His message to the whole world by Himself, why would He choose to send us instead? If He did everything Himself, we’d all just be spectators. We’d watch Him, be amazed, but never step into the adventure. By sending His disciples, and us, He invites ordinary people to carry extraordinary hope. It’s like when a teacher could just do the project alone, but instead asks the class to join in. The point isn’t that the teacher can’t do it, but that the students grow by being part of it.

Let’s get to it! Jesus made it clear that following Him isn’t just about listening, it’s about living and sharing. In Luke 8:16, He says no one lights a lamp and hides it. If we’ve received His light, our responsibility is to let it shine so others can see. In Luke 9:2, He sends the disciples out to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick. That shows it’s not only His job, it’s ours too. In Luke 9:23, He says whoever wants to follow Him must take up their cross daily. That means discipleship is not a once-in-a-while thing, but a daily choice to walk in His ways. In Luke 9:60, Jesus tells one who hesitated, “Go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Our calling is urgent, it matters now.

Psalm 63 feels like a song from someone who deeply misses God. The writer says his soul thirsts for God like being in a desert with no water. Yet even in the wilderness he finds joy and strength because God’s love is better than life itself.
