In John 7, during a feast in Jerusalem, Jesus teaches in the temple. Some believe in Him, others doubt, and the leaders seek to arrest Him. Jesus says that rivers of living water will flow from those who believe in Him, referring to the Holy Spirit. The crowd is divided, but His words show that He is the source of life.
In John 8, the religious leaders bring a woman caught in sin. They want to test Jesus, but He says: "Let him who is without sin throw the first stone". One by one, they leave, and Jesus tells the woman to live differently. Jesus also declares that He is the Light of the World. Many argue with Him, but He makes it clear that knowing Him brings freedom.
In John 9, Jesus heals a man blind from birth. The leaders investigate and argue, but the man boldly declares that Jesus gave him sight. In the end, Jesus reveals Himself to him and he believes. This chapter shows that some who think they see are blind in their hearts, while those who trust in Jesus can see clearly.
Psalm 71 is the prayer of an elderly person who has trusted in God since childhood. He asks for strength and rescue, and praises God for His faithfulness throughout life.
