In John 10, Jesus says that He is the Good Shepherd. His sheep know His voice and He cares for them so much that He gives His life for them. He warns that thieves come to steal and destroy, but He came to give a full and eternal life.
In John 11, Lazarus, a friend of Jesus, dies. When He arrives, Martha and Mary are filled with sorrow. John 11:35 is the shortest verse in the Bible: “Jesus wept.” Then He shows His power by calling Lazarus from the tomb. Many believe because of this miracle, but the leaders decide to kill Him. This chapter proves that Jesus is stronger than death itself.
In John 12, Mary, sister of Martha and Lazarus, pours expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet to honor Him. Shortly after, the crowds welcome Him into Jerusalem with palm branches. But Jesus explains that His hour has come: to die like a seed that falls to the ground, bringing new life.
Psalm 72 is a prayer for a king to rule with justice and care for the poor. It points to the King chosen by God, who will bring peace, fairness, and blessing to the whole world.
