Paul continues writing from Antioch, deeply concerned that the Galatians are slipping back into old habits. He reminds them that through Christ, they are free children of God.
In Galatians 4, Paul explains that before Jesus came, people were like children under strict rules, but now, through Christ, we have been adopted as God’s sons and daughters. Paul worries that the Galatians are slipping back into old habits, trying to earn God’s love instead of resting in it. He reminds them that faith brings freedom, not fear.
In Galatians 5, Paul teaches that Jesus set us free so we can live in love, not under a list of rules. He says that when we walk with the Holy Spirit, our lives will show His fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). These are signs of a heart led by God.
In Galatians 6, Paul reminds the church to care for one another gently, especially when someone is struggling. He says that whatever we plant in life—kindness or selfishness—will grow into the kind of harvest we receive.
In Psalm 102, the writer cries out to God in a time of pain and exhaustion but still finds hope in knowing that God never changes. Generations come and go, but God’s love remains steady.
