After leaving Athens, Paul travels to Corinth, where he writes to the young church in Thessalonica. He remembers their excitement when they first believed and how they stayed strong even when life became difficult. Though far away, Paul feels like a spiritual father writing to his children, full of love and pride for their faith.

In 1 Thessalonians 1, Paul writes with deep affection to the believers in Thessalonica. He remembers how they welcomed the message of Jesus with joy, even when life was hard. Their faith had become an example to others all across the region.

In 1 Thessalonians 2, Paul recalls how gently he and his companions cared for the believers, like parents caring for their children. He explains that they didn’t share the message for praise or money but out of genuine love.

In 1 Thessalonians 3, Paul says he sent Timothy to encourage and strengthen the believers so they wouldn’t lose heart during difficult times. When Timothy returned with good news of their strong faith, Paul was filled with joy and thankfulness.

In Psalm 109, the writer feels deeply hurt by people who have treated him unfairly, but instead of fighting back, he turns his pain into prayer. He asks God to defend him and to show justice in His own way.
