Paul continues writing from Corinth, filled with affection for the Thessalonian believers. He knows they’re facing confusion and sorrow, especially about what happens to loved ones who die before Jesus returns. Paul’s words are full of comfort and reassurance, reminding them that their hope in Christ will never fade.

In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul encourages the believers to keep growing in love and to live in a way that honors God. He reminds them that living peacefully, working hard, and showing kindness are ways to reflect Jesus every day.

In 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul talks about being ready for Jesus’ return, which will come suddenly like a thief in the night. He encourages believers to stay alert and full of faith, love, and hope. Paul reminds them to always encourage each other, to live with joy, to pray continually, and to give thanks in every situation.

In Psalm 110, David writes a royal song about the coming Messiah. He describes a powerful King and eternal Priest chosen by God, who will rule with justice and victory. Christians later understood this psalm as pointing to Jesus, who reigns forever at God’s right hand.
