Paul’s final letter is written from a dark Roman prison, where he knows his earthly race is nearly done. Though his body is tired, his heart is full of peace and faith. He looks back on his life and forward to eternity with joy, knowing he has served God well.
In 2 Timothy 4, Paul gives Timothy his final words of encouragement. He urges him to keep preaching the message of Jesus, whether it’s easy or hard, and to stay faithful no matter what others do. Paul knows his life is almost finished, but he isn’t afraid. His words show peace and confidence in knowing he has lived fully for God.
Paul also asks Timothy to visit soon and to bring some of his belongings, showing that even strong leaders need friendship and care.
In Psalm 115, the psalmist reminds everyone to give glory to God alone, not to lifeless idols made by human hands.
