Aaron and his sons’ lives are dedicated to God following His detailed instructions (Leviticus 8) reminding us of the importance of obedience when serving God. On the eighth day, Aaron and his sons begin their priestly duties (Leviticus 9). Tragedy strikes when Nadab and Abihu, Aaron's sons, offer unauthorized fire before the Lord, resulting in their immediate death (Leviticus 10).
Obedience prepares us for God’s work, it welcomes God’s presence, and through obedience we avoid unnecessary consequences. Submission to God’s will is the best way to honor Him and show Him our love.
Psalm 32 highlights the freedom that comes from confessing our sins and receiving God’s forgiveness. Holding onto guilt weighs us down, but honesty with God and seeking His grace brings joy and renewal.
