Day 40 - Numbers 1-4, Psalm 40

Let’s get a move on! Training in Leviticus is over, and the Israelites are now ready to move.

God orders Moses to take a census of the Israelites, organizing them by tribe and preparing them for their journey (Exodus 1). Just as if you were ordering pizza for a group, this journey started by counting how many people there were in the group.

God arranges the tribes around the Tabernacle, ensuring unity and protection (Exodus 2). In the same way, keeping God at the center of our lives will ensure our success.

Remember the 12 kids that Jacob had? They moved to Egypt and each family grew becoming the 12 tribes of Isreal. The Levites are named after Jacob’s son Levi. The people of this tribe are chosen to serve in the Tabernacle (Exodus 3). Assigning purpose driven goals is part of what God does. You can assure He has a few for you, if you don’t have clarity as to what they might be – ask Him.

God assigns specific duties to the Levites, ensuring the Tabernacle is properly cared for (Exodus 4). God calls us to faithfully follow Him, honoring all He has entrusted to us with care, diligence, and devotion. Reflecting daily on the ways you care for His creation is a great way to stay on track.

In Psalm 40, David praises God for deliverance and trusts in His faithfulness. It is hard to wait patiently. When in a holding pattern, knowing God hears you can be just enough to get you through. He will rescue you in His perfect time and in the meantime, you got this!
