Day 41 - Numbers 5-7, Psalm 41

Numbers chapter 5 covers laws about purity, restitution for wrongdoing, and unfaithfulness in marriage. God knows we can’t be perfect, but His desire to see us as close to holiness as possible is evident.

Chapter 6 introduces the Nazirite vow. What is that? It is a special dedication to God marked by abstaining from wine, avoiding contact with the dead, and not cutting your hair. We can make this type of dedication to God too. We might want to abstain from something pushing us away from holiness. We could create discipline or practice in His honor or dedicate a season of life to deeper prayer. Taking a personal vow to get closer to God is a great way to nurture your relationship.

Offerings were brought by the Israelites for the dedication of the tabernacle (Numbers 7), showing each tribe’s willingness to give generously to God. They gave so generously there had to be a stop on what was being offered. Give freely. God will fill your cup.

Psalm 41 is a blessing for those who care for the weak. Let’s show kindness!
