Day 50 - Numbers 31-32, Psalm 50

In Numbers 31, God commands the attack on the Midianites, demonstrating that sin has consequences. Just as Israel was called to purge corruption, we too must be diligent in removing immorality from our lives. This process is often difficult and uncomfortable, but it is necessary for true spiritual growth. If it feels too easy, it probably is.

Ruben and Gad want to go back to the land east of the Jordan (Numbers 32). Moses demands that they stick around until all the work is done, then that would be allowed to return. Being reliable and keeping our commitments is part of God’s plan for our lives. If breaking promises left and right is on the menu, we need to dig deep to see what the bigger issue is.

Psalm 50 presents God as the honorable decision maker, calling His people to true worship. Why isn’t all worship honest? Is there any other kind? I guess there must be, if not God would not have to warn us. That is a lot to think about.
