Deuteronomy 32 is the Song of Moses. As Moses prepares for his end God gives him a prophetic song to recite reminding the Israelites of God’s faithfulness.
In Deuteronomy 33, Moses blesses each tribe of Israel before his death.
In Deuteronomy 34, Moses climbs Mt. Nebo, where God shows him the Promised Land. At 120 years old, Moses dies, and God buries him. Joshua takes over as leader.
This marks the transition from Moses' leadership to Joshua, leading into the conquest of the Promised Land in the book of Joshua, up next.
At the end of Deuteronomy, I always shed a tear for Moses. An innocent Hebrew baby destined to die at birth; God intervened, and he became a hero to a nation. Lost in the desert for years trying to control 2 million complainers, he dies right outside the reach of his goal. Beautiful. Beautiful? Moses was not in it for himself. He was in it for Him. An amazing example.
In this psalm (Psalm 64), David cries out to God for protection against his enemies who plot against him with secret schemes. Even when our adversaries plot against us, we can rest knowing that God sees everything and will act in His perfect timing.
