I’m addicted to reality competition shows. On a rough day, you might catch me watching an episode of Love is Blind or Survivor (yes… all 48 seasons 🙈), but my true favorites are the ones that highlight talent, raw, refined, purpose-driven talent.

Shows like Blown Away, where glassmakers from across the world turn fire and sand into breathtaking art. Top Chef, a delicious battlefield where culinary giants push each other to greatness. Project Runway pulls at my heartstrings. I spent years in the sewing industry, so I understand the sweat behind the stitches. Even shows like Ink Master and Forged in Fire, though far from my own interests, completely captivate me.

Because I’m not just addicted to the show. I’m addicted to the talent. ’m drawn to excellence, passion, and perseverance. I love celebrating their wins, those moments when years of effort erupt into something spectacular.

What moves me most is when someone uses their God-given gift with such overwhelming brilliance that it feels spiritual. You know that kind of skill where you just think: No human is this good on their own. It’s more than talent. It’s a partnership. A divine collaboration between a purposeful God and an obedient heart.

That’s why I watch. Because when someone fully develops their gift, whether it’s through fabric, fire, food, or ink, it reminds me of what’s possible when we walk in purpose. Their craft, though distant from my own, brings me closer to my Creator.

They deserve my admiration. Because every masterpiece points back to the Master.
