I am excited to announce that Wilbur found a home. I am proud of a lot of work we have been doing here in Honduras, but finding Wilbur a suitable home is at the top of the list.
Wilbur was a bundle of energy wrapped up in fur and slobber. He loved us all. He would come when we called. He used the bathroom outside. He learned commands quickly and he gave lots of hugs and kisses. His skin was too big for his body. He still has a lot of growing to do. I taught him English, which everyone was concerned about. I figured the new owner could manage Wilbur’s limited vocabulary.
Frederick was sad when we dropped him off. Wondering for the thousandth time, why can’t we keep him? I explained to Frederick that we never owned him. He was only ours temporarily while we found the perfect home. With that home found, it was time to move on.
When looking at an eternal God, we compare and struggle to understand why we live a life of cycles. People come and go. We might question why they ever were a part of our story. We might think we would have been better off avoiding their influence. Ultimately, these cycles are the divine lessons that stretch our spiritual fascia. Just like that thin layer of connective tissue that surrounds our vital organs keeping us together, our spiritual minds have to stretch. This movement releases tension and loosens our grip on a world we cannot control.
Thank you, Wilbur, for stretching my tenderness, expanding my outlook and warming my heart. Don’t you worry I will be checking up on you. If you ever wind up in a cycle where you need a home, our door is always open. That goes for you too.
