We walk through life in fear. Are we good enough? Did we do as much as necessary? Should we have done something different? Can we go back? What does the future hold?
We want to hold on tight. We want to be in control. We want to get ahead of the problem and assure an efficient solution.
Imagine the weight of our humanity.
God offers us an answer.
He says: Give that weight to me. I am the now and the later. The before and the after. I know what is best for you. I know what you want. I know what you need. I will create a perfect plan that takes into account your neighbor, your nation, your family, and you as an individual. With the macro and the micro taken into account, I will give you a step-by-step guide. Don’t ask me what we are doing a year from now or even what we are doing tomorrow. Just focus on what I am asking you to do right now. This requires trust and it is hard for you to trust someone you don’t know. So, get to know me. Let’s talk every day. Tell me how you feel and what you are thinking. I know that it is hard to believe in me and this whole concept requires a lot of faith, so I am not asking you to believe in me without proof. I can prove it to you. Follow my guidance. Do what I tell you to do. With each step-in obedience I will bless you as you come closer to your ultimate purpose. Today just take that first step. That is all you have to do now. Nothing else. That is all that matters.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
