We all battle the voices inside ourselves. A voice that tells us what is “right”, commonly referred to as our morality. Many wars fought in the defense of what someone, somewhere thought was right. The other, our flesh, often looked at suspiciously, and surprisingly not always wrong.

Both voices depend on self-reliance. These devious confounders rely on our ego.

Coming from a background of skepticism, I’m on a constant quest to find proof for others who, like me, feel uncomfortable with belief, yet lost without it.

It is in these voices that I rest. My flesh has been right so many times. My primordial instincts and reflexes have saved me from a tiger or two. My morality has also played a key role in getting me out of trouble, and into some as well. A constant judge-o-meter, beeping green and red according to its frivolous experience. It is the third voice that I haven’t mentioned that is the true treasure. The voice of the Spirit.

The Spirit tells us which of the many paths available takes us towards our purpose. Many times, that might mean walking right up to a tiger or placating the flesh. It is when we let go of our need to self-govern and let Him take the wheel that the RIGHT choice is made.
