March 6th, 2025 – God’s work is never rushed.

When trying to understand God’s perfect timing, I have had to explore my inner thoughts. Why does it need to get done? What does the timeline represent? Who sets the deadline? After prayer and reflection, I find the culprit hidden under the desire to look good to those who follow my walk. It is there in my ego that God’s voice is quieted, and the clock is set.

The construction of the chapel has been a test of my skills to suppress my desire to get things done. With the press of a button, it could be finished, but if accelerated past His desired speed, is it still His?

This adventure started in November, collecting donations for construction to begin. When we had enough funding to begin, the rain would not let up. It rained for two months straight making access to our neighborhood impossible. Despite the deterrents we moved forward slowly.

First, the cross was planted to supervise the build. The foundation was laid. The four rows of blocks were placed. The columns were fortified. The filler trucked- in to level the project out was compacted and placed. Now, the floor is being poured.  We are getting there. Slowly.

We will not be done by the end of March as anticipated. We still need to raise the funding for the roof ($3400). As in every interaction with God, there is a lesson around every corner. I love this chapel. It lights up my heart every time I see it. When it is ready, in God’s perfect timing, it will serve a divine purpose. In the meantime, I will learn to wait.
